The photo below shows three large boxes full of dispensed items that have not been collected from the surgery by patients, during a three month period.
We are yet to work out the total cost of the medications wasted, however the real cost will be much higher when you factor in all of the resources necessary to ensure the medication reaches the shelves in the first place.
Please do not order medications you do not need. We cannot re-use this medication and it goes to waste. The real cost of wasted medications to the NHS is over £300 million per year. We can all play a part in reducing this. Please view for further information.
